Hi there. To start off my being here, I decided to post one of my favorite albums of 2008. Yes, from the cover, it seems like another indie folk album but it isn't. It's the first thing in a while that I've actually been able to call "beautiful". I really can't compare it to anything else. It's like the Women album, it's hard to explain. I almost knew nothing about this band. I heard two tracks on their myspace page and ordered it. So, yeah. It's hard to evaluate so download this and buy it if you enjoy it. It's like Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 with some folk influences. It's all over the place.

i kind of know this band... they are from philly but played a show around me last fall. in the brief 2 days i got to know them, i can tell you that they enjoy bad poetry, cheap wine, bike riding, and each dressing in a different color of the rainbow. they are kool
good first post, gumo!!!
any chance of getting this in a better quality?
128kbps is dirt poor, like listening to myspace. if it's as good as you say, i want to hear it better!
[not an annoying audiophile]
jeez man, greedy much? that's the best i could do and i have the physical copy.
just buy it.
if you have the physical copy it's not the best you can do. couldn't you rip it as 320kbps or some VBR?
i know you're not obliged to do it but this kind of bit rate does no favours to the music.
ball's in your court obviously. Thanks. :-)
so this is why you call it a moral adventure? you're not *really* whoring out the music, just a compressed sample of it?
If you really love an artist, and you own the CD... you really owe it to the artist to put out the best sample of their music possible I think. At least in 256 kbps. I know all of us bloggers have to say "buy the album" but really if that was your end goal, then you wouldn't be putting it out there for free at all.
soooo... any chance of a better up? :-)
not really because
a: the cd's not with me
b: my computer doesn't rip well
c: mediafire sucks
sowwy :(
a. fair enough.
b. if you could rip that then you could rip anything. try looking on google for some good guides on ripping and ripping software.
c. mediafire is one of like... hundreds.
anyway, good luck blogging in the future; shame i couldn't listen to your favourite album in reasonable quality. it looked interesting. :]
gumo, all you have to do, if you use itunes, is change the import settings, you will be happy that you did. 320 >>>>>>>>> 128. not even comparable.
i really dig this record, thanks
